Arsenal

Lukasz Fabianski The Pole had no chance with any of Hull City’s goals and didn’t have much else to do other than that.6/10

Bacary Sagna In what could be his last game for the club, the French full-back was his typical self. Attacked well and defended well. An all round good performance. 7

Per Mertesacker The giant German wasn’t tested much at the back but dealt with anything that came his way. 7

Laurent Koscielny Grabbed Arsenal’s equaliser and hurt himself in the process but the Frenchman had a very good game in the Arsenal backline. 7

Kieran Gibbs The left back kept attacking but didn’t get much chance from Elmohamady at right wing back, but the Englishman had a decent game defensively including stopping Hull going 3-0 up when he blocked Bruce’s header on the line before missing a sitter at 2-2. 6

Mikel Arteta Arsenal’s captain was his usual self in midfield, rarely misplacing a pass and being busy closing down the opposition. 6

Aaron Ramsey Arsenal’s best player this season didn’t have as much of an impact on the game during the 90 minutes with Huddlestone and Livermore keeping him quiet, but grabbed the winner for Arsenal during the second half of extra time with a great finish. 7

Santi Cazorla Got Arsenal back into the game with a terrific free kick but wasn’t involved an awful lot. 6

Mesut Ozil The German didn’t have his best game, finding it hard to get on the ball but when he did he was always a threat. 6

Lukas Podolski Wasn’t involved an awful lot, had a few decent touches but didn’t have the impact he would have liked. Replaced by Yaya Sanogo. 5

Oliver Giroud Was up against three defenders who have been rock solid all season for Hull and didn’t cause them an awful lot of problems. Had a potential penalty turned down when Huddlestone pulled him down in the box. 6

Substitutes

Yaya Sanogo Worked hard when he came on with little end product. 5

Jack Wilshere Fresh legs added to Arsenal in the second half of extra time. 3

Tomas Rosicky Like Wilshere, his fresh legs helped Arsenal at a vital time. 3

Hull City

Allan McGregor Had no chance with Santi Cazorla’s free kick or Laurent Koscielny’s equaliser and made a couple of good stops. 7

James Chester Opened the scoring on four minutes and was solid throughout. 7

Alex Bruce Gave away the foul for Cazorla to score just after seeing his header cleared off the line by Gibbs but had a good game otherwise. 6

Curtis Davies Put his side two goals up after eight minutes and was Hull City’s best player as he kept his side solid at the back. 8

Ahmed Elmohamady The right wing-back had a good game in his battle with Gibbs, and made a great challenge when Stephen Quinn’s mistake allowed Giroud to send a ball across to Ozil. 7

Jake Livermore The loanee was lucky not to have a penalty given against him when the ball hit his hand in the box but overall he had a good game in the Hull midfield. 7

Tom Huddlestone Former Spurs’ youngster had a good game in the Hull midfield against Arsenal, and his mishit shot set up James Chester’s opening goal. 7

David Meyler The Irishman was industrious in the Hull midfield without being overly effective. 6

Liam Rosenior Left wing back had a difficult job with Sagna and Cazorla up against him but he coped well. 6

Stephen Quinn Worked hard and delivered the set-pieces for Hull’s two goals. 6

Matty Fryatt The striker was given the hard task of being a lone striker and ran himself into the ground during the game. 6

Substitutes

Paul McShane Replaced the injured Alex Bruce in the second half and done OK. 5

Sone Aluko Was brought on to replace Stephen Quinn in the number 10 role and was a livewire during the last 15 minutes. 5

George Boyd Came on during extra time but didn’t do much. 2
