The Gunners manager’s current contract is set to expire in the summer and the north London side are yet to strike a new deal with the Frenchman.
He’s worth his weight in gold. If I was the owner I’d very much keep him in position. If something’s not broke then don’t fix it
Wenger led Arsenal to a fourth-place finish for a 17th successive season in May, whilst the Gunners face Hull City in the FA Cup final this weekend.
And former Arsenal captain Adams believes Wenger is worth his weight in gold and urged the club’s owners to resolve the manager’s future.
“It’s about time we won something! But Arsene’s been unbelievable for the club. They’ve had a good run in the Champions League and they’ve done well financially,” Adams told Sky Sports News.
“But they’re now going into an FA Cup final – there’s no place for losers and they need to win this one! He better stay though! I don’t know anyone else who could do it. He’s done magnificently.
“The production of Arsenal players is second to none. They’ve been sacking managers left right and centre and it’s great credit to Arsenal Football Club they’ve kept a man in place.
“He’s worth his weight in gold. If I was the owner I’d very much keep him in position. If something’s not broke then don’t fix it.”
