Chelsea transfers: Jose Mourinho eyes ‘critical’ summer signings
Chelsea transfers: Jose Mourinho admits the Blues want to sign a striker but is tight-lipped on Diego Costa reports

Jose Mourinho says Chelsea will make some “critical signings” but won’t be the busiest club in the summer transfer window.
The Blues have been heavily linked with a big-money swoop for Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa, with the Spanish striker scoring in a 3-1 win at Chelsea in the Champions League mid-week.
Is a striker target for us? Yes. We’ve never denied that. Is Diego a good player? Yes

Meanwhile, Chelsea are reported to be weighing up the possibility of selling centre-half David Luiz to raise funds for their bid for the los Rojiblancos target man.
When asked about Chelsea’s apparent interest in Costa, Mourinho remained tight-lipped – but did confirm the Blues would be active in the summer transfer market.
“The only thing I can say is the market is closed and it opens in the summer,” Mourinho told his pre-match media conference.
“Chelsea will be quiet calm during that period. We are not going to be the noisy team buying and selling.
“We are not going to be that kind of club. We are going to do a couple of critical signings.”
He continued: “Is a striker target for us? Yes. We’ve never denied that. Is Diego a good player? Yes, but he is an Atletico player.”
Quizzed on Thibaut Courtois’s Chelsea future after the on-loan Atletico Madrid goalkeeper helped deny the Blues their spot in the Champions League final, Mourinho added: “I prefer to say that he is an Atletico goalkeeper… I prefer not to comment.”
