Fernando Torres: Liverpool fans didn’t understand my Chelsea switch
Fernando Torres accuses Liverpool fans of failing to "understand" why he left the club for Chelsea in 2011

Fernando Torres believes that the hostile reception he receives when returning to Anfield with Chelsea is due to Liverpool fans not “understanding” the reason for his transfer.
The Spanish striker sealed a £50m switch to Stamford Bridge from Liverpool back in January 2011 after three-and-a-half seasons with the Reds on Merseyside.
Since I moved to Chelsea the reception I get is not the best

Torres set up Willian’s goal as Chelsea ran out 2-0 winners at Anfield last weekend to dent his former club’s title hopes.
“At Anfield it’s always also emotional,” Torres, 30, told Chelsea’s website.
“Since I moved to Chelsea the reception I get is not the best because they didn’t understand or they are playing a game they need to win against an opponent, which I am now.
“But again we went to Anfield and I wanted to win, I wanted to do the best for Chelsea. This time we could do it, we could beat Liverpool at Anfield. We’re still alive now.”
Torres scored 81 goals in 142 appearances for the Reds during his spell at the club.
