The Uruguay international revealed that he would like to play for the Eredivise champions again at some point in his career after leaving Amsterdam for Liverpool in 2011.
Suarez has also become a bigger player than when he was at Ajax few years ago but, of course, it’s a nice thing to hear that from Suarez
Frank de Boer
“I would definitely go back to Ajax,” Suarez told Helden Magazine.
“Even if the coach there doesn’t want me, I’m going. Definitely.
“Ajax is very important for me: ideal club, taught me a lot, using both feet, playing with the ball and being a team player.”
Suarez, who was signed by Brendan Rodgers’s predecessor Kenny Dalglish, was crowned the PFA and WFA player of the year after scoring 31 goals in 32 Premier League games this season.
And Tottenham target De Boar insisted that the Dutch club would welcome back Suarez with open arms.
“We’re definitely interested if any of our former players are wishing to return,” De Boer is quoted as saying by Goal.com.
“We do have interest as our former players certainly know about Ajax culture but we have to learn if they’re fit into our gameplay.
“Suarez has also become a bigger player than when he was at Ajax few years ago but, of course, it’s a nice thing to hear that from Suarez. It’s a good sign for Ajax.”
