Liverpool need the Hammers to beat the Citizens if the Reds are to have any chance of winning the Premier League title.
Lucas and Carroll were team-mates for a season-and-a-half before the England striker joined West Ham on loan, sealing a permanent move last summer.
We know it is not in our hands any more but it has been a fantastic season for us
“Will I be texting Andy? Yeah. They have been here with us, working with us and I’m sure they will do their best to get points for West Ham and help us. But it’s not in our hands,” Lucas is quoted as saying by Daily Mail.
The Brazilian, who isn’t part of his country’s World Cup squad, lifted the lid on the dressing room atmosphere after Liverpool threw away three-goal lead to draw 3-3 at Crystal Palace on Monday night.
“For eight or nine minutes we just switched off and paid the price,” Lucas added.
“It was very quiet in the dressing room after Palace, the quietest I have seen since I came here (in 2007) and it was hard to explain. But we still have Newcastle to play and we still have to believe something good is coming.
“We know it is not in our hands any more but it has been a fantastic season for us. People wouldn’t expect us to achieve what we achieved and now we move on and see what will happen.”
