Manchester City

Joe Hart Aside from a few robust challenges with Andy Carroll, the England no.1’s afternoon was as quiet as he is ever likely to experience. Reliable when called upon. 6/10

Aleksandar Kolarov Drew a stunning save from Adrian in the first half, and rarely had to bother with his defensive duties such was the nature of City’s dominance. Has had a very good campaign. 5

Vincent Kompany The big man was again solid at the back, and scored at the other end to add to his tally of three league goals this season. An accomplished display from the captain. 7

Martin Demichelis The Argentine has continued to silence his doubters with another comfortable performance in the sky blue shirt. Rarely troubled throughout, but earned a yellow card for a rash challenge on Mark Noble midway through the second half. 6

Pablo Zabaleta As was the case with Kolarov, defending was right at the bottom of today’s list of responsibilities. Romped forward to support Nasri on the right, and kept the physical Diame quiet all afternoon. 6

Javi Garcia Was happy to settle in alongside/behind Toure throughout, and limited Nolan and Noble’s attacking threat to great effect. 7

Yaya Toure Relentlessly drove at the West Ham back four, and controlled the midfield area with ease. Provided the assist for Nasri’s opener, and played a small part in Kompany’s second. Perhaps should have had a goal for himself late on. 8

Samir Nasri (man of the match) Playing almost exclusively high out wide on the right side of the pitch, the man previously lamented for his lack of effort was buzzing about like a Jack Russell Terrier. His final ball inside was at times sloppy, but the goal to put City ahead was one of real quality. a fantastic showing. 9

David Silva City fans call him the best they’ve ever seen at the club, at the diminutive Spaniard continues to back up their argument. His ability to control the game (alongside Toure) is incredible, tearing West Ham apart in between the lines on a consistent basis. 9

Sergio Aguero Still finding his feet after a string of niggling injuries, the Argentine was subdued throughout. Will not want to see his miss from four yards again anytime soon. Booked for a late nasty late challenge on Noble. 4

Edin Dzeko A quiet afternoon for the man described by Jose Mourinho as the player of the season. Was unable to add to his tally of 28 goals in all competitions this season, but the striker was afforded a very warm departure by his home fans. 6

Substitutes

Fernandinho Brought on for Dzeko in the 69th minute, helped to solidify the newly crowned champions’ two goal advantage. 5

James Milner Replaced David Silva in the 75th minute, settled in alongside Garcia and helped preserve his side’s lead. 5

Alvaro Negredo Brought on for Toure in the 86th minute. N/A

West Ham United

Adrian A fine save from a rasping Kolarov drive kept West Ham alive in the first half was undone by a poor attempt to keep out Nasri’s long range effort. Did well on several occasions in the second half to keep the score respectable. The West Ham hierarchy will feel they’ve unearthed a relative bargain. 6

Winston Reid Was unable to cope with the rampant attacking play from City’s forwards, and lost track of Kompany for City’s second. 4

George McCartney Unable to deal with the combined presence of Nasri and Zabaleta, and rarely made a meaningful venture into the opposing half. 3

James Tomkins Tormented by City’s multi-million pound attacking force, the former England U-21 international look out of his depth throughout. 3

Joey O’Brien Pinned back 20 yards from his own goal-line for the most part, the acting right-back made no real positive impact on the match. 3

Kevin Nolan Booked for a nasty collision with Joe Hart, and offered relatively little to his side’s muted attacking efforts, but against a side of this quality, his impact can be forgiven. 3

Matt Taylor Could not pick up from where he left off against Tottenham, out-skilled and out-muscled by Toure throughout. 4

Mark Noble Did the best he could under trying circumstances, but was unable to hold off the charge from City’s rampaging midfielders. Booked for a late scuffle with Aguero. 4

Mohamed Diame Had no luck whatsoever against the increasingly solid Zabaleta at right back. Last season’s form is a distant memory. 3

Stewart Downing A performance in keeping with his season. Got himself in positions to threaten, but his end product was too often lacklustre. 4

Andy Carroll Troubled Kompany with his physicality, but never really offered enough of a threat to worry City’s goal. Was lucky to see his deflection from an Aguero strike rebound onto the bar. Might not have done enough this season to earn a place on the plane to Brazil. 4

Substitutes

Matt Jarvis Brought on for Kevin Nolan in the 63rd minute. Very subdued. 3

Carlton Cole Replaced Andy Carroll in the 72nd minute. N/A

Joe Cole Replaced Diame in the 81st minute. N/A
