Man United target Pep Guardiola talks Bayern Munich future
Manchester United target Pep Guardiola says Bayern Munich must decide if he is the right man moving forward
Pep Guardiola says Bayern Munich must decide if he is the right man going forward after their humiliating Champions League exit.
The defending champions were eliminated at the semi-final stage after Real Madrid’s 3-0 win at the Allianz Arena sealed a 4-0 aggregate victory.
I won’t change my opinion about the club and the people who work here after one defeat
Pep Guardiola
Guardiola, who replaced Jupp Heynckes last summer, led Bayern to the Bundesliga title last month, with the Bavarians to face Borussia Dortmund in the German Cup final.
Manchester United have been linked with a move for the former Barcelona manager, however, Guardiola vowed to continue his hard work at the Munich outfit unless he is no longer wanted.
“The club must decide if the coach is the right one for the club,” Guardiola said.
“I won’t change my opinion about the club and the people who work here after one defeat. I feel like a part of the club and will do my best with my ideas until the last day.
“It’s not important [to have public backing from the club]. There is only one rule in football: to win or to lose.
“If we don’t win, it doesn’t help me if Kalle [Rummenigge] and Matthias [Sammer] are convinced by me. If we lose, I have the risk. It’s a big club, you always have to win. If it doesn’t happen, maybe the club decides differently.”
