Luke Shaw insists he is ignoring speculation linking the Southampton defender to Manchester United.

The 18-year-old was speaking to the media at England’s training camp ahead of this summer’s World Cup after the Saints youth graduate was included in Roy Hodgson’s 23-man travelling party.

Shaw, who was named in the PFA Premier League team of the year, has been heavily linked with a £27m move to United as the 20-time Premier League champions aim to sign a long-term successor to Patrice Evra.

But the England international, who made one assist in 35 Premier League appearances, is focusing on his first major tournament and not reports in the media.

“Transfer speculation is something that is not even on my mind,” the London Evening Standard quotes Shaw as saying. “Transfer talk is completely gone — I am here to focus on England and England only.”

Evra signed a new one-year deal with United on Friday evening, with an option of a second year.
