Robin van Persie has lifted the lid on Ryan Giggs’ Sir Alex Ferguson-esque team talks after a 3-1 win against Hull City.

The interim United boss, who temporarily replaced David Moyes last month, led the Red Devils to the second Premier League win of his short managerial career on Tuesday night.

He’s a legend and I think he shows that every day

Giggs handed 18-year-old James Wilson his United debut and the teenager scored either side of half-time before Van Persie marked his return from injury with a late strike.

The Netherlands international has only been part of two Giggs team talks due to his injury woes, and Van Persie lavished praise on the 40-year-old United legend.

“I witnessed two team meetings as I came in a bit late,” Van Persie told United’s website. “The one from the last game against Sunderland, and today’s game, were incredible. They were Sir Alex-esque.

“He’s been brilliant and I think he came on without even warming up tonight! Am I correct? He came on without a warm-up, put in some fantastic passes and almost scored. He’s a legend and I think he shows that every day.”
