We’re all familiar with the phrase “my gran could have scored that”, but a senior lady has brought the phrase to life after showing off her skills in the streets of Rome.

The elderly Italian was captured practising her skills with some young men in the suburbs of the Italian capital despite wearing a long black skirt, cardigan and sporting a handbag on her shoulder.

Many will remember Harry Redknapp’s scathing criticism of Darren Bent in 2009. The then-Tottenham Hotspur manager fumed his wife could have scored a chance that the striker missed in the closing moments of a 1-1 draw with Sunderland.

Redknapp said: “You will never get a better chance to win a match than that. My missus could have scored that one.”

And the elderly Italian lady could well have put the misfiring Fulham striker to shame after her series of impressive solos.
