Tim Sherwood has suggested that he is unhappy about a lack of respect shown towards him by Tottenham since taking charge of the north London club.

The 45-year-old’s future has been the subject of intense speculation in recent weeks, with Spurs widely tipped to dismiss him at the end of the season.

Rafael Benitez, Mauricio Pochettino and Roberto Martinez are among the names to have been linked with the White Hart Lane job should Sherwood be relieved of his duties.

And Sherwood has hinted that he is not pleased with the way he has been treated by Spurs since his appointment as head coach last year.

“People will always judge on what I’ve come in and done,” said Sherwood, who replaced the sacked Andre Villas-Boas at White Hart Lane back in December.

“It’s imperative to have a pre-season and bed your ideas in. And also I’m doing it with a lot of uncertainty around my future.

“If you have a supply teacher who comes into your school, sometimes they’re not treated with the respect that a headmaster is.”

Asked if a meeting between himself and Spurs chairman Daniel Levy had been pencilled in yet, Sherwood said: “There is not one in yet. We are just focusing on this last game, we want to get a positive result and then sit down and have a chat.

“I obviously have to wait to see the chairman and see what the future holds. I gave a list of players to the chairman and Franco Baldini about the ones I recommend we keep, ones that leave and ones we should sign.”
