We’re cool! Lewis Hamilton ‘still friends’ with Nico Rosberg after talks

Lewis Hamilton moves to play down reports of a rift with Nico Rosberg by revealing the Mercedes duo have held talks

Lewis Hamilton has moved to play down suggestions of a rift with Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg by insisting that the pair are “still friends”.

Rosberg claimed victory at the Monaco Grand Prix last weekend to move four points ahead of Hamilton in the drivers’ standings after taking pole position in a controversial qualifying session.

The animosity between the pair was evident during a tense-looking podium ceremony as the two Mercedes drivers barely acknowledged each other.

However, Hamilton took to his Instagram account on Friday to reveal that he has held talks with the German about their relationship.

Hamilton posted the picture below and wrote: “We’ve been friends a long time & as friends we have our ups & downs. Today we spoke & we’re cool, still friends #noproblem”
