Ander Herrera feels ‘lucky’ to be working with Man United’s Louis van Gaal

Manchester United signing Ander Herrera reveals David De Gea and Juan Mata told him Red Devils is world's best club

Ander Herrera is relishing the opportunity to work under newly-appointed United manager Louis van Gaal next season .

The 24-year-old has penned a four-year deal with the Red Devils on Thursday afternoon after the 20-time English champions triggered the Athletic Bilbao midfielder’s contract release clause.

And Herrera, who is yet to be capped by Vicente Del Bosque, feels lucky to have the chance to work under Van Gaal at Old Trafford.

“I am very happy and very proud to be at Manchester United, I can promise the fans I will be a good professional and work hard,” Herrera told MUTV.

“Louis van Gaal is one of the best managers in the world and, for me, I am lucky to be working with him. I want to learn a lot of things and I can’t wait to play with van Gaal, my new team-mates and for Manchester United.”

Herrera also revealed that David De Gea and Juan Mata described Manchester United as the best club in the world prior to his Old Trafford switch

“I know they are very happy,” Herrera added.

“I was talking to them and they told me that this is the biggest club in the world and that we have a very good squad. We are very good friends and I am sure that they will help me to adapt and get to know the club.”
