The 20-year-old Costa Rica international, who scored in the 3-1 World Cup win over Uruguay in Brazil, has yet to play for the Gunners following his move to the club in 2011 after loan spells at Lorient, Real Betis and Olympiacos.
And although a number of clubs are understood to have expressed an interest in signing the forward, the player’s agent insists that his client will return to Emirates Stadium ahead of the new season.
“It is true [several European clubs want him], but the reality is that the player has a two-year contract with Arsenal and the instructions we have from London right now are that after the World Cup the player will return to the English club”, agent Joaquim Batica told Ultimecalcionapoli.it.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger recently expressed his satisfaction at the progress Campbell has made in recent seasons.
“He will definitely come back to us for pre-season. He is maturing well,” said Wenger.
Campbell scored eight league goals for Olympiacos last season.
