Arsenal transfers: Inter Milan play down talk of signing Alvaro Morata
Arsenal transfers: Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausilio says Real Madrid don't want to sell striker Alvaro Morata
Inter Milan don’t expect to sign Arsenal target Alvaro Morata this summer, according to Inter Milan’s sporting director.
The Gunners have been strongly linked with a swoop for the 21-year-old Spaniard in recent weeks after the north London club was touted as a destination for the striker in the January transfer window.
Arsene Wenger was reported to have competition from Inter for the los Blancos forward’s signature, with the youngster scoring eight goals in 23 appearances, although 20 of those were from the bench.
But the Nerazzurri’s sporting director Piero Ausilio ruled out Morata, or Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko, move to the San Siro in the summer transfer window.
“Some media report about our interest in (Edin) Dzeko and (Alvaro) Morata, but if their clubs don’t want to sell these players, we won’t do anything,’ Ausilio is quoted as saying by La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Morata has scored 11 goals in 52 appearances in all competitions for Madrid.
