Cesc Fabregas insists he will not be affected by images of Arsenal fans burning their shirts with his name on the back.

A number of photographs showing torched Fabregas shirts have emerged on social media following the Spain international’s transfer to London rivals Chelsea last week.

I have explained it well. I’ve always been very loyal and grateful to Arsenal

But Fabregas, who spent eight years at the north London club before returning to Barcelona in 2011, insists he is paying no attention to the small portion of fans “who want to cause trouble”.

“I’m mature enough for that not to hurt,” Fabregas said.

“I have explained it well. I’ve always been very loyal and grateful to Arsenal.

“There was a first option they could exercise, I talked with Arsene Wenger and he told me that the area was covered with [Mesut] Özil, but there are always fans who want to cause trouble.”
