Diego Costa has not yet agreed a deal to join Chelsea, according to Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo.

The Blues are reported to be closing in on the £32m signing of the Spain international striker as Jose Mourinho looks to bolster his attacking options at Stamford Bridge ahead of next season.

Until we receive the money from his buy-out clause, he remains an Atletico player

However, despite the widespread reports, Cerezo says that no deal had yet been struck for the striker.

“We don’t know anything about Costa, all we know is that Chelsea have made contact but we haven’t received any money or anything else yet,” Cerezo said.

“Until we receive the money from his buy-out clause, he remains an Atletico player.”

Speaking earlier this month, Costa himself conceded that he is likely to end up at Stamford Bridge, saying: “Am I going to Chelsea? It looks like it.”
