Stephane Mbia has opened the door to a transfer to Chelsea by admitting that he wants to join a club in the Champions League – and would love to be coached by Jose Mourinho.

The Cameroon international spent last term on loan to Sevilla from QPR and played a big part in helping the Spanish club to Europa League glory.

My dream is to be coached by Mourinho, because I think he’s a great manager

But with his Hoops contract set to expire at the end of June, the midfielder is now assessing his options ahead of the new campaign.

“I have the utmost respect for Sevilla, but it would be very difficult for me to stay there, because I want to play at the highest level and try to win the Champions League,” said Mbia.

“I don’t know where I’ll be going, but I want to achieve great things next season. My dream is to be coached by Mourinho, because I think he’s a great manager.”
