Chelsea transfers: ‘Thibaut Courtois returning to Stamford Bridge’
Chelsea transfers: Thibaut Courtois will return to the west London club this summer, says Marc Wilmots
Belgium manager Marc Wilmots claims Thibaut Courtois will return to Chelsea this summer – and the Blues could also sell Petr Cech.
The 22-year-old, who is currently on international duty with Belgium at the World Cup, helped Atletico Madrid win the Spanish league and reach the Champions League final this season after another successful campaign in La Liga.
Courtois has spent the past three seasons on loan at Vicente Calderon from Chelsea after moving to the west London club from Genk in the summer of 2011.
And Wilmots is sure that the shot-stopper will be returning to the west London club to fight for a first-team place next season.
“Yes, he will be returning to Chelsea this summer,” Wilmots said. “Will they sell Cech? Yes, probably.”
Courtois recently revealed that he held talks with Jose Mourinho about his future earlier this summer.
“I can reveal now that I have had a big meeting with Jose Mourinho in May, before the Atletico v Barcelona game,” said Courtois.
“We talked about my situation. And after this World Cup everything will be clear to everyone.”
