Jack Wilshere: Don’t blame Roy Hodgson for England’s failings
Jack Wilshere asks England fans not to blame Roy Hodgson for the Three Lions' dismal World Cup campaign

Jack Wilshere has asked England fans not to blame manager Roy Hodgson for the Three Lions’ dismal World Cup campaign.
England played out a goalless draw against Costa Rica on Tuesday after being eliminated following back-to-back defeats by Italy and Uruguay in Brazil.
The FA have already confirmed that Hodgson will remain in charge of the national side until 2016 despite their poor showing this summer.
And Arsenal midfielder Wilshere insists that the players must take the blame for England’s disappointing campaign.
“It is not the manager’s fault,” said Wilshere.
“The manager can pick the team but the players have to go on the pitch and do it. Everyone here respects the manager. He has got a fantastic CV and been to World Cups before.
“If anything comes out of this, it is that this manager is the one to take us forward.
“Even if we had won against Costa Rica, we would have been disappointed. We are going to wake up every day wondering ‘what if?’ but we have to get over it.”
