Liverpool transfers: Neil Mellor believes Adam Lallana would be a quality signing for the Reds amid reports of a medical
Adam Lallana would be a quality signing and provide Liverpool with a positive end to a difficult week, according to Neil Mellor.
The 26-year-old Southampton captain is reported to have travelled to Merseyside to undergo a medical at the Reds’s Melwood training ground on Friday afternoon.
Liverpool are believed to have agreed a £25m deal with the Saints, who allowed 18-year-old Luke Shaw to complete a reported £33m switch to Manchester United earlier today.
And former Reds striker Mellor feels Lallana’s signing would be some welcome good news after Luis Suarez was banned for nine games and four months from any football-related acitivity by Fifa after biting Giorgio Chiellini.
A good end to a frustrating week for Liverpool if the Lallana deal goes through. A fantastic signing that will bring plenty of quality.

Lallana scored nine goals and made six assists in 38 Premier League appearances last season.
