Liverpool transfers: Verona boss prepared to lose Juan Iturbe
Liverpool transfers: Verona manager Andrea Mandorlini accepts that Juan Iturbe and Romulo are likely to leave the club
Verona expect to lose Liverpool target Juan Iturbe and Romulo this summer, manager Andrea Mandorlini admits.
The Argentina Under-20 international completed a permanent move to Verona in May after spending the season on loan from Porto, scoring eight goals and making four assists in 33 appearances.
He has grown so much over the past year. He can play for any club
Unsurprisingly Iturbe’s form has attracted interest from the English top-flight, with Liverpool and Chelsea reportedly monitoring the Verona winger.
And Verona boss Mandorline accepts that the Serie A side are facing a battle to keep hold of the highly-rated 21-year-old South American.
“I don’t know where Iturbe will go, but I wish him all the best,” Mandorlini told Sky Sport Italia.
“He has grown so much over the past year. He can play for any club. Romulo also did well with us.
“We are losing these players, but want to do well next season and repeat the excellent results of this campaign.”
