Luke Shaw: I want to learn from Man United’s world-class players
Manchester United complete the signing of Luke Shaw from Southampton, with the left-back penning a four-year deal
Luke Shaw has revealed his eagerness to learn from Manchester United’s world-class players after completing his £33m switch from Southampton.
The 18-year-old becomes the world’s most expensive teenager after the left-back signed a four-year deal with the 20-time English champions on Friday.
Shaw was part of Roy Hodgson’s World Cup squad and started England’s goalless draw with Costa Rica in their final Group D game on Tuesday.
“I am thrilled and excited to be joining Manchester United,” Shaw told United’s website.
“I have been at Southampton since I was eight years old and I would like to thank them and the fans for everything they have done for me. I want to continue to progress my career and joining United is the ideal place for me to do that.
“I am looking forward to this new chapter in my life and also looking forward to learning from the world-class players and management at the club.”
Shaw made one assist in 35 Premier League appearances for Southampton last season.
