The 27-year-old striker played a key role in Uruguay’s 2-1 victory over England in the World Cup on Thursday night as the PSG forward set up Luis Suarez’s opener in the first half.
One day you’re in one team and the next you can be in another
Cavani has endured a frustrating first season at the Ligue 1 champions, with manager Laurent Blanc shuffling the South American out to the wing to accommodate Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Despite being played out-of-position, the former Napoli striker still managed to score a respectable 16 goals in 31 top-flight appearances in France.
And Cavani, who linked superbly with Suarez throughout the Group D encounter, was remaining coy on talk of a possible move to Manchester United.
“Luis Suarez and I are already at great clubs,” Cavani is quoted as saying by Le 10 Sport. “We belong to teams that are among the best in the world. I think we defend the colours of our club with pride and prestige.
“But in football, you never know, anything can happen. One day you’re in one team and the next you can be in another.”
