Marek Hamsik has insisted that he has never thought about leaving Napoli despite interest from the Premier League.

The Slovakia international has regularly attracted interest from some of Europe’s premier clubs since rising to prominence at the Naples outfit in recent seasons.

I have never thought to leave, I want to stay at Napoli

Hamsik scored seven goals and made nine assists in 37 appearances for Napoli despite picking up a serious toe injury in the middle of the campaign.

And the 26-year-old reiterated that he has no issues with current Napoli manager Rafael Benitez after lifting the Coppa Italia earlier this month.

“I have never thought to leave, I want to stay at Napoli,” Hamsik is quoted as saying in Pluska. “I expected more of myself. I felt bad but I don’ want to find excuses. Luckily we won the Coppa Italia.

“I haven’t had problems with Benitez. I had a good start to the season, but then I got injured. It has been the first serious injury of my career.”
