Nani is planning to assess his options in the coming weeks amid speculation Arsenal are interested in snapping up the Manchester United winger.

The 27-year-old has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford following Louis van Gaal’s appointment despite penning a five-year deal last season.

Nani struggled to make an impression under former United boss David Moyes, scoring one goal in 13 appearances in all competitions during the Scot’s disastrous reign.

And the Portugal international, who carried his poor form into the World Cup despite netting against USA, is weighing up his options ahead of the new Premier League season.

“I’m a United player but there has been some interest on my behalf,” Nani told Portuguese sports newspaper Abola. “I will evaluate it and decide what is the most advantageous for me.

Nani added: “A return to Portugal? Right now I don’t know.”

Nani has scored 40 goals in 227 appearances in all competitions following his move to United from Sporting Lisbon in 2007.
