Mesut Ozil insists that there is plenty more to come from him as he bids to help Germany reach the World Cup last 16.

Germany face USA in their final Group G game on Thursday knowing that a point will be enough to see them through to the first knockout stage.

I know what I can do and I will show some big performances

Ozil has come in for criticism for his displays in recent weeks and has thus far failed to create or score any of Germany’s six goals in Brazil.

However, the Arsenal playmaker is certain that he will get better as the tournament progresses.

“Obviously, I know I can do better,” said Ozil.

“I am satisfied with the last two games. I played on high level in the tournament. Of course, goals or assists are missing.

“I know what I can do and I will show some big performances in the upcoming games.”

Ozil initially impressed after his £42.5m move to Arsenal from Real Madrid last summer but a hamstring injury coincided with a dip in form after the turn of the year.
