Aaron Ramsey and Lukas Podolski are among the tweeters after the 2014-15 Premier League fixtures are released

Aaron Ramsey was among the players to tweet their excitement about the new Premier League season after the 2014-15 fixture list was revealed on Wednesday.

Arsenal kick off their campaign with a home game against Crystal Palace, while defending champions Manchester City travel to Newcastle.

Louis van Gaal’s first game in charge of Manchester United will be a home clash against Swansea City – and Liverpool take on Southampton at Anfield.

Here is a selection of the best updates after the fixture list was unveiled on Wednesday morning.

With the big kick-off 59 days away, Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey (@AaronRamsey) is already looking forward to the new campaign: “Seeing the fixtures come out is making me excited for the new season. Can’t wait for the first game at home against Palace!

And his Gunners team-mate Lukas Podolski (@Podolski10) chimes in after the fixtures are released: “Game 1 of the new season will be vs Crystal Palace – at the Emirates ! ;) Do you think it’s the right opponent for the opening day? #afc”

Manchester United winger Ashley Young (@youngy18) is also feeling excited: “Nice to start the season with a home game. Swansea again opening day… can’t wait!!!”

Former striker Michael Owen ‏(@themichaelowen) reckons United have a good set of fixtures: “Fixtures are out. Excited for next year’s Premier League already. Nice opening set of fixtures for Van Gaal.”

Tottenham defender Kyle Walker (@kylewalker2) chimes in after Spurs are handed a trip to London rivals West Ham on the opening day: “Exciting opening few games for us to start next season #COYS”
