Li Na rued her decision not to play at Birmingham or Eastbourne after the second seed suffered a straight sets loss to Barbora Strycova in the third round at Wimbledon.
The Birmingham finalist, who is ranked No43 in the world, eased to victory over the two-time Major winner after a 7-6 (5) 7-6 (5) victory in one hour and 19 minutes on the No1 Court at SW19.

And China’s Li, 32, who reached the Wimbledon quarter-finals in 2006, 2010 and 2013, accepted that she made a wrong decision not to play a warm-up tournament on grass.
“I think I made wrong decision,” Li said. “I needed to play some matches before the big one [Wimbledon].
“You know, [it] is not only about technique. I think sometimes I don’t know how to play the point, especially in the important moment. I think today I made a lot of mistakes.”
The 2014 Australia Open winner added: “Where do I think I lost the match? Like I say, in important moments, I don’t know how to hit the ball to make the point.
“I was always wait, wait to see if I was wish the opponent can make mistake. But today didn’t work.”
And Li was in no mood to assess Strycova’s next opponent, Caroline Wozniacki: “{It} is not my business. I’m already out of tournament.”
