Ander Herrera has described making his first appearance in a Manchester United shirt as a “dream”.
The 24-year-old Spaniard, who joined in a £29m deal from Athletic Bilbao this summer, notched up two assists for Ashley Young as the Red Devils ran out 7-0 winners in Wednesday’s pre-season friendly victory over LA Galaxy.

And the midfielder was delighted with how he performed in what was Louis van Gaal’s first game in charge of United.
“It was a dream for me to play in the red shirt – I will keep this shirt with me always. I hope this is the start of a lot of games for United,” Herrera told United’s website.
“It wasn’t only me in this game though, I think the whole team enjoyed the game and did well. It’s the first match and we have done good things. It’s a good step and we’re very happy.
“There were over 80,000 fans to support us – it’s unbelievable. We thank them a lot.”
Herrera scored five goals and made five assists in 33 La Liga games for Athletic Bilbao last season.
