Ian Wright believes Arsenal will be serious Premier League title contenders after signing Alexis Sánchez.

The Chile international will link up with Gunners’s club-record signing Mesut Ozil after penning a long-term deal at the north London side on Thursday.

Sánchez bring an impressive goal-scoring record to Arsenal following three seasons in La Liga, scoring 39 goals in 88 top-flight appearances.

And Arsenal legend Wright is excited by the prospect of Ozil and Sánchez playing together in Arsene Wenger’s Gunners side next season.

“Warm welcome to Mr Alexis Sánchez. Media can say what they like about Mesut! With these 2 for starters, Arsenal are back in the game baby!” Wright posted on Twitter.

Arsenal legend Henry, who is the north London club’s all-time record goal-scorer, was also thrilled to see the Gunners land the Barcelona forward.

“Congratulations @Arsenal for the signing of #alexisanchez. Looking forward to seeing him play soon,” Henry posted on Twitter.
