Arsenal transfers: Arsene Wenger coy on World Cup targets

Arsenal transfers: Arsene Wenger remains coy when asked if he is keen on signing any stars from the World Cup

Arsene Wenger gave little away when quizzed about whether he is keen on bringing any of the World Cup stars he has seen in Brazil to Arsenal.

The Gunners have been heavily linked with a bid to bring Chile winger Alexis Sánchez to north London in recent days, while France defender Mathieu Debuchy is said to be close to sealing a transfer to Emirates Stadium.

However, when asked if there were any players on show in Brazil who he would like to bring to Arsenal, the Frenchman remained typically coy during his media duties.

“I have seen many good players here, like you,” said Wenger. “But don’t ask me the names!”

The Gunners have also been linked with an £8m bid for France and Queens Park Rangers striker Loic Remy in recent days.

And Ivory Coast defender Serge Aurier continues to be touted as a target tor the north London club.
