Fabio Cannavaro has urged Iker Casillas to quit Real Madrid as Arsenal continue to be linked with the Spain goalkeeper.
The 33-year-old’s future has been a source of speculation in recent months after falling out of favour at the Bernabeu and being limited to just two La Liga starts last season.
Arsenal are understood to be on the lookout for a new goalkeeper following the departure of Lukasz Fabianski to Swansea City this summer and Casillas is among the names linked with the north London club.
And former Real Madrid defender Cannavaro feels that his ex-team-mate should seek a move away from the Spanish club.
“If he is still a substitute, I think he should leave,” Cannavaro told Marca.
“It would be good for him, the club and even for Diego Lopez, who has also done very well.”
