Eintracht Frankfurt remain keen on signing Nicklas Bendtner this summer, despite recent reports linking the Arsenal misfit with Aston Villa.

The 26-year-old Denmark international is a free agent after being released by the Gunners this summer following a disappointing return to Emirates Stadium last season.

Bendtner has been touted as a target for Aston Villa in recent days but Frankfurt say they are still keen on luring the striker to the Bundesliga after attempting to sign him last summer.

“We already had good rounds of talk with Bendtner last season,” general manager Bruno Hubner told Hessischer Rundfunk.

“His name is in our head and he can well imagine doing a deal with Eintracht Frankfurt as far as I am concerned.

“There is no deal and nothing concrete, still Nicklas Bendtner is definitely a transfer option.”
