Jackson Martinez admits that he would jump at the chance to sign for Arsenal after revealing he supported the Gunners as a child.

The north London club have been strongly linked with a bid for the 27-year-old Costa Rica striker, who has scored 60 goals in 91 games for Porto, as Arsene Wenger looks to add firepower to his squad ahead of next season.

If I had the occasion to play there, I would say yes

And Martinez has revealed that he would be quick to take up the opportunity to move to Emirates Stadium should the chance present itself.

“I know that there have been discussions, but still no agreements,” said Martinez.

“My agent is taking care of my future, right now I’m at the World Cup and only after the World Cup I’ll evaluate proposals.

“As a child I cheered for Arsenal, they play a game that suits me. If I had the occasion to play there, I would say yes.”

Martinez scored 20 goals in 30 Portuguese league appearances for Porto last season.
