Arsenal transfers: Kiko Casilla doesn’t want Gunners move

Arsenal transfers: Kiko Casilla rules out the possibility of joining the Gunners by saying he wants to stay at Espanyol

Kiko Casilla has ruled out the possibility of joining Arsenal this summer by insisting that he doesn’t want to leave Espanyol.

The 27-year-old goalkeeper has been touted as a target for Gunners boss Arsene Wenger, who is in the market for another shot-stopper after Lukasz Fabianski’s move to Swansea City.

My mind is firmly fixed on my work here

But the Spaniard, who has one year remaining on his contact, wants to stay at Espanyol.

“I do not want to leave this summer. My intention is to complete this season and then negotiate another deal,” said Casilla.

“If I have to go, it won’t be for free. Espanyol have invested heavily in me and given the economic situation, I want my club to be the only beneficiary.

“But my mind is firmly fixed on my work here. For any player, it’s important to know where your future lies and I’m clear about mine.”

Casilla kept nine clean sheets for Espanyol last season.
