Thomas Vermaelen admits that he doesn’t know if he will be playing at Arsenal next season.

The Belgian centre-half has been linked with a move to Manchester United in recent weeks after being limited to just seven Premier League starts for the Gunners last season.

I will see when I talk with Arsenal

The 28-year-old had previously insisted that his focus was purely on helping Belgium succeed at the World Cup, but following his country’s exit in Brazil, the defender concedes that he is in the dark over his future.

“I really do not know where I will play, Arsenal or elsewhere next season,” Vermaelen told the London Evening Standard.

“All my attention went to the World Cup. I will see when I talk with Arsenal.”

Vermaelen, who joined Arsenal from Ajax back in 2009, has one year remaining on his contract with the north London club.
