Reports have claimed that the Magpies have accepted a bid from Arsenal in the region on £7.9m for the 28-year-old.

And Debuchy confirmed that he is set to move to Emirates Stadium this summer after France’s World Cup exit at the hands of Germany.

“Yes, I will be joining Arsenal for next season,” Debuchy told TF1 following his country’s World Cup defeat in Brazil.

Debuchy scored one goal and made three assists in 29 Premier League appearances for Newcastle United last season.
