Ross Barkley and Phil Neville tweet their thoughts as Everton prepare to confirm Romelu Lukaku deal

Romelu Lukaku is set to complete a permanent move to Everton after the Belgium striker tweeted “time to write a new chapter”.

The 21-year-old towering forward is tipped to pen a five-year deal at Goodison Park and the Toffees are expected to announce the deal on Wednesday night.

Here is the best of the Twitter reaction from the professionals, past and present, including the Chelsea man himself.

The man-of-the-moment Romelu Lukaku (@RomeluLukaku9) is ready for a change: “Time to write a new chapter….”

Former Toffees striker Gary Lineker ‏(@GaryLineker) is excited by the business getting done by the Merseyside outfit: “Like what Everton are doing. Lukaku set to sign, Barry signed, Barkley extension and Besic is a good addition.”

Ex-Everton midfielder Philip Neville (@fizzer18) hails Lukaku as a top signing for the club: “Will be a brilliant signing @RomeluLukaku9 for Everton had a great season last year – been a good week for my old club!”
