Paris Saint-Germain have removed Edinson Cavani from their advertising campaign for the new season, prompting reports that the Uruguayan is set to move to the Premier League.

Manchester United have been heavily linked with a move for the South American despite boasting the likes of Juan Mata, Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie and Danny Welbeck in their ranks.

However, Louis van Gaal’s United are firm favourites to land Cavani, with Paddy Power offering customers odds of 6/5.

The Red Devils are believed to be facing competition for Cavani’s signature from bitter rivals Liverpool, who are looking for a replacement for talismanic striker Luis Suarez.

The Premier League runners-up are a more generously priced 3/1 to sign Cavani, who netted 16 goals in 30 Ligue 1 appearances last season following his big-money move from Napoli.
