Bryan Oviedo has taken to Instagram to reassure Everton supporters that he is nearing a return to first-team training.

The Costa Rica international suffered a broken leg in the 18th minute of Everton’s 4-0 victory over Stevenage in the fourth round of the FA Cup in January.

It resulted in the 24-year-old missing the remainder of the Premier League season and Costa Rica’s run to the World Cup quarter-finals in Brazil this summer.

Oviedo proved a massive hit under Roberto Martinez, scoring two goals and making two assists nine Premier League appearances.

And the Everton man appears on course to make a return to first-team action next season after posting an update on Instagram.

Oviedo joined Everton in a deal from Danish club Copenhagen in 2012.
