Romelu Lukaku tells Chelsea that he is not interested in being sent out on loan for another season
Romelu Lukaku has told Chelsea that he is not interested in being loaned out for another season as speculation continues to surround the striker’s future.
The Belgian forward spent the last campaign at Everton, where he scored 15 goals and made six assists in 31 Premier League games for the Toffees.
I am 21 and I have been loaned for the last two seasons
Lukaku, 21, has been linked with a permanent switch to Goodison Park, as well as a move to Atletico Madrid in recent weeks.
And the forward, who spent the 2012-13 season on loan to West Bromwich Albion, has underlined his desire to have his future sorted out definitely one way or the other this summer.
“What I don’t want is to be loaned out,” Lukaku is quoted as saying by The Mirror.
“I am 21 and I have been loaned for the last two seasons. Thibaut Courtois was loaned for three seasons and will be without doubt the first-choice Chelsea goalkeeper.
“And Kevin De Bruyne has been transferred permanently to Wolfsburg. They are free in their heads – it is not my case. That would free me totally.”
