Come on your spurs! Tottenham’s Erik Lamela gears up for new season
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Erik Lamela is relishing a new season under fellow Argentine Mauricio Pochettino
Erik Lamela may have endured a tough first season in the Premier League, but Tottenham Hotspur’s club-record signing is relishing the new campaign.
The 22-year-old completed a £30.75m move to the north London club from Roma last summer, with the playmaker widely viewed as Gareth Bale’s replacement.
However, the Argentina international took longer than expected to settle in the Premier League, and Lamela scored one goal and made three assists in a disappointing first season at White Hart Lane.
Spurs appointed fellow Argentine Mauricio Pochettino as Tim Sherwood’s successor in May, and Lamela appears to be loving life under his compatriot after taking to Twitter on Sunday evening.
