Dejan Lovren says he can’t wait to link up with his top-class Liverpool team-mates – including Adam Lallana and Rickie Lambert – after completing his Liverpool move.

The 25-year-old has penned a long-term deal at the 18-time English champions after Liverpool struck a £20m deal with Southampton for one of the Premier League’s most-coveted defenders.

It’s not just Rickie or Adam, I also want to meet the other lads and I can’t wait to start with them

Lovren, who moved to the Saints from Lyon last summer, follows in the footsteps of Lallana and Lambert after the pair swapped Southampton for Liverpool last month.

And the Croatia international is excited to see the England duo, as well as his new team-mates, as Lovren prepares to link up with the Reds squad in USA.

“Yes, of course, but it’s not just Rickie or Adam, I also want to meet the other lads and I can’t wait to start with them,” Lovren told Liverpool’s website.

“They are top players and top lads. Of course I know Adam and Rickie a lot better from last season – they are great players and they deserve to be here.”

Lovren continued: “He [Lambert] has a lot of experience, has played a lot of games in the Premier League and the Championship also. Rickie scored a lot of important goals last season and I learned a lot of things from him. He was like a leader for us.

“I really enjoyed playing with Adam last season – it was amazing. He was the main player, playing all of the games. Like Rickie, he is a great leader, even though he is only 26.

“Now the dream has come true and we will get the chance to play together.”
