Didier Drogba believes Cesc Fabregas will come to realise that it is better to be with Chelsea than against the Blues.

The Ivory Coast international penned a one-year deal with the west London side this week after becoming a free agent at the end of last season.

To have Cesc with us, I think he’ll understand it’s better to be with us than against us

Drogba is Chelsea’s fourth signing of the summer following the capture of former Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas from Barcelona, and Atletico Madrid’s Diego Costa and Filipe Luis.

And the 36-year-old, who won the Champions League with Chelsea in 2012, hailed the summer signings following his return to Stamford Bridge.

“It was very important for us to buy these players, they are all good signings,” Drogba told Chelsea’s website.

“To have Cesc with us, I think he’ll understand it’s better to be with us than against us. They are good players and I hope they will bring their talent and experience to the team.

“I’ve been watching Diego play over the last few years and the first time I saw him I really liked him as a player. I like his character, he’s solid, he can score goals and he’s also technically gifted. He likes people to respect him and that’s important.”
