Divock Origi has lifted the lid on Simon Mignolet’s positive words about Liverpool after the striker moved to Anfield from Lille.

The 19-year-old Belgium striker became the Reds’s sixth summer signing on Tuesday evening, penning a long-term deal with the Premier League runners-up.

He [Mignolet] told me everything was good about the club. He didn’t have a bad word to say

Mignolet, who moved to Anfield last summer, was a key part of Brendan Rodgers’s side that pushed Manchester City all the way in the title race.

And Origi revealed that the Reds goalkeeper told his compatriot that Liverpool would be the perfect club for the teenager.

“He’s said a lot of good things about Liverpool and told me it’s the perfect club for me. He was only positive, and it was great to be able to talk with him about Liverpool,” Origi told Liverpool’s website.

He added: “I just asked how the club is, the environment and the people. He told me everything was good about the club. He didn’t have a bad word to say.”

Origi added that Mignolet, 26, will play a vital role in helping the forward settle at Anfield.

“Mignolet is a very friendly person. He always helps me, even with the national team. He’ll be important for me,” Origi continued.
