Tottenham Hotspur have announced that Emmanuel Adebayor has been released from hospital after being admitted with a “mild bout of malaria”.
The 30-year-old striker returned to training like the rest of team-mates last week as new manager Mauricio Pochettino put his new squad through their paces.
The former Arsenal striker was brought to hospital due to the illness on Saturday and Spurs confirmed that the Togo international would be unavailable for their pre-season tour.
And Tottenham revealed via Twitter that Adebayor has been released from hospital and will will rest for seven days before returning to pre-season training.

The striker will now rest for a minimum of seven days before making a return to training and will continue to be assessed.

Adebayor scored 11 goals in 21 Premier League appearances last season.
