Guinness Pro12: Champions Leinster will face Glasgow Warriors in a repeat of May's final on first weekend of newly-branded laegue

The PRO12, Rugby’s premier professional club competition in Ireland, Italy, Scotland and Wales, today announced the fixtures for the 2014/2015 season and welcomed Guinness as its’ new title sponsor, which now sees the competition called the Guinness PRO12.

The Guinness PRO12 season will burst into action with lots of outstanding games to look forward to, starting on the first weekend of September (5/6/7th) 2014, with Glasgow Warriors hosting back-to-back champions Leinster in a repeat of last season’s final.

Munster and Ulster, who both reached the play-offs, face Edinburgh at home and Scarlets away respectively. The Ospreys will face Benetton Treviso in Swansea and Cardiff Blues travel to Parma to take on Zebre. Connacht host the Newport Gwent Dragons in Galway.

John Feehan, chief executive, Guinness PRO12 said: “We are delighted that Guinness, an international brand with a strong pedigree in rugby, will be our title sponsor and we are looking forward to working with Guinness in actively developing the profile and stature of our competition which boasts some of the biggest names in world rugby.”

David Jordan, tournament director, Guinness PRO12 added: “The kick-off times for the first half of the season will be issued shortly, I for one can’t wait to watch last season’s top two go into to battle as Glasgow Warriors set to with Leinster in the opening weekend.

“The many highlights of the Guiness PRO12 season include the games over the Christmas Holiday period, where the celebrated derbies are among the feast of rugby that we are all looking forward to next season.”

The Guinness PRO12 season will be launched late August.
