Liverpool transfers: Ashley Cole is talking to foreign clubs amid reports that he is set to join Roma, according to his agent

Ashley Cole is only in discussions with foreign clubs despite being linked with Liverpool, according to his representative.
The 33-year-old is currently a free agent after being released from Chelsea earlier in the summer following a glittering eight-year career at Stamford Bridge.

Reports in Italy suggest Cole is set to fly to the capital for a medical at Roma ahead of a potential free transfer to the Serie A runners-up.
Liverpool have been left frustrated in their pursuit of Sevilla youngster Alberto Moreno, whilst the Reds are tracking Argentina international Marcos Roja.
Cole would be a temporary solution to Brendan Rodgers’s left-back woes, having worked with the England man at Chelsea.
But the defender’s agent Jonathan Barnett revealed that only foreign clubs are in the frame.
“The situation is that we are talking to several clubs. At the moment it is only clubs based abroad – there may be other developments, but for the moment, that is all we are talking,” Barnett is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.
Cole scored seven goals in 338 appearances in all competitions for Chelsea.
